The origins

Janolo was launched by sister n ° 1 (Jenna) through digital illustrations under the name of "Janolo Art" inspired by the rights and women empowerment. While on a personal development journey, she quit her job in a consulting company, her apartment and had undertaken a one-year round the world trip. The pandemic interrupted her journey and she returned to where it all began: Geneva. She launched Janolo Art in August 2020 and started selling online, doing markets and exhibitions.

With lots of ambition, we realized that we could transform the platform and integrate emerging artists. Also, with Janolo Art's illustrations being very minimalistic, we started to wonder what it would look like in the form of embroidery.

This is where Sister # 2 (Stacey) comes in, late December 2020.

We are both streetwear fanatics, creative and very independent. Franco-Australian, we have both lived and / or studied abroad for many years. We like to discover new cultures, new concepts and we wanted Janolo to reflect this. Concept stores and alternative art platforms are increasingly developing in dynamic cities of London, Sydney, San Francisco.

We started to think about Janolo's branding using the words creative, ethical and lifestyle. From the start, we wanted to integrate the Sustainability in everything we do. It made no sense to do otherwise. The first thing we decided for Janolo was to only create once the order had been placed, to change the way we consume and prevent excess production from ending up in landfill.

Janolo is a business model in which we strongly believe, where creativity, sustainability and commitment are the main guidelines.

Because we believe that transparency is essential, we wanted to share with you our history and our commitment to women's rights.
